1. Why is my hair dry? (back to top)

Dry hair is a very common complaint and Back Like Me is well known for products that treat hair, leaving hair well conditioned and shinny. For Natural Curly Hair (Not Been Chemically Straightened or Colour Treated). Or, Chemically Treated (Chemically Straightened, Colour Treated or Permed Hair).

Firstly, Shampoo hair twice using BLACK LIKE ME Revitalizing Protein Shampoo (BLUE),(for the second shampoo wait 3-5 minutes before rinsing with warm clean water). After Shampooing, the hair may feel hard and rough, this is fine as the protein in the shampoo is repairing the surface area of your hair

Second BLACK LIKE ME Hot Oil Treatment (Clear Packaging with Blue cap); using a clean towel gently blot out any excess water and apply a little Hot Oil treatment to your hair, leave covered with a plastic cap (not supplied) for 10-15 minutes before rinsing well with warm water.

Third, BLACK LIKE ME Revitalising Moisture Conditioner; Again blot dry hair, apply conditioner, using a large tooth comb, comb through the hair evenly distributing the conditioner and rinse well (there is no need real benefit to the hair my leaving the conditioner on for any long periods of time).

Daily maintenance is beneficial and well compliments the BLACK LIKE ME treatment service.

For Natural Curly hair which requires moisture please select your choice of product (Shine On Oil Moisturizer or 100% Beeswax) from the BLACK LIKE ME Aftercare or Naturals range (Red Packaging) and style as usual.

For chemical treated hair, try Shine On Oil Moisturiser or Nourishment Hair Dress Crème.

2. My children, is it safe to Relax their hair? (back to top)

When it comes to children we all must think of safety, most relaxer products contain harsh chemicals like lye (even no-lye kits), these chemicals, if left on the hair too long or not applied in the correct manner can cause the hair to break, become dry or fall out.

Black Like Me relaxer products (Green Packaging) contain conditioning based, no mix, Sodium Hydroxide and have been well tested on African, African Caribbean and mixed raced hair types. BLACK LIKE ME relaxer products can be a great benefit in helping to manage difficult to comb hair, however, we would recommend only relaxing children over the age of 12 (responsible enough to alert the operator should the chemical ingredient begin to burn or become uncomfortable) and that Relaxer products are applied by an experienced adult.

Hair is, believe it or not, made up of millions of tiny particles, holding them together is a science (one reason why we put so much in to our products) This also means there could be any number of reason why your hair could be breaking. 4. My hair is not growing, what do I do? (back to top)

In today’s environment there could be millions of reasons why hair is not growing, however, to cover the basics; Hair takes it’s nourishment from the blood supply and requires essential fatty acids to grow, these fatty acids are often controlled by our diet.
